About Lomi Lomi massage:

Lomi Lomi (meaning ‘to knead, to rub, or soothe; to work in and out, as the paws of a contented cat’ – Wikipedia) is a restorative Hawaiian massage that works gently, yet deeply into the muscles with continuous flowing strokes. Touch, rhythm and ancient wisdom come together, allowing healing to occur.

Lomi Lomi aids in releasing physical pain, stress, anxiety and emotional distress. Through its rhythms and patterns it activates meridians and energy points, releases energetic blocks and allows the body’s own healing process to take over.

Traditional Old Style Lomi Lomi is a style of massage that has been practiced in Hawaii for hundreds of years. It has been carefully and respectfully passed down through a lineage to ensure that it remains unchanged from the original form.

Some benefits of a Lomi Lomi massage:

About John:

I love making people feel better! 🙂 My gift is through conscious touch, something that I have been developing for some time with study in the last three to four years in Traditional Old Style Lomi Lomi, Traditional Trigger Point Therapy  and Reiki. My education in holistic or somatic bodywork is continuous and ongoing; I have also a deep interest in chakra healing and breath work and sometimes incorporate these modalities in the massage session. My style of massage can be described as firm but sensitive, and always within the comfort boundaries of the client.

About Ernestine:

Having received massage and bodywork for years, it was during the lockdowns of 2020 that I became more interested in doing massage as my husband (John) was unable to see his normal massage therapists – so I had to “practise” on him. Fast forward to a refresher workshop which John attended at Kumu Dawn Charlton’s Learn Lomi Lomi retreat in the Gold Coast hinterlands, I discovered the Lomi Lomi community and decided to take my own journey into that world. I haven’t look back – I am a retired nurse and midwife and this traditional, wonderfully healing modality is a perfect fit. My style is soft and gentle, and very suitable for those who love a relaxing and nourishing massage.

Both John and Ernestine are members of and insured with IICT – the International Institute of Complementary Therapists.
